Connect a Mac

Every run happens on a real Mac somebody enrolled. Until one is online, the work sits in the queue and waits.

Why a Mac

Kelvin drives your app on a real machine and records what happened there. The cloud schedules the work and keeps the evidence; the Mac does the work.

Enrol one

  1. Install Kelvin on the Mac you want to enrol.Download for macOS
  2. Open Nodes in the dashboard.app.kelvincode.com
  3. Give the machine a label — optional — and create an enrollment code.
  4. Open the Kelvin app on that Mac and paste the code there.

The code is single-use and shown exactly once, and it is short-lived: the screen counts it down, and the code disappears when it reaches zero. Nothing is lost if that happens — create another.

Who can do this

Seeing the fleet and creating a code needs the fleet administrator role. Somebody without it sees the screen say so, rather than a button that could not work.

What happens next

The Mac appears in the fleet, and once it is online it can take work. Nothing else in this product moves until that is true — a run with no Mac to take it simply waits.

The build and the scenario a run will use reach the project through the API — that is the way in for what the run needs.
